The first thing you should do once you wake up in the morning, is to hydrate your body, because water is so important for the proper functioning of all the body’s internal organs.

Some options of Liquid Tonics for your “Rising” routine are:

  • Pure water

Ingredients

1pint pure water

Instructions:

… It doesn’t really need instructions.

Notes:

In the fall/winter you may feel more inclined to warm the water before drinking, and that is suggested if you have a Vata or Kapha body constitution. Drink the water and try to feel its taste; avoid drinking fast. Drinking pure water provides exactly what you are looking for first thing in the morning: hydration.

  • Cayenne – Lemon Tonic

Ingredients

1pint pure water

2T lemon juice

1t raw honey

1/4t or 1/2t cayenne

Instructions

Pour in a pint glass the lemon juice, honey, and cayenne. Heat the water to desired temperature and pour in the pint glass; stir well and enjoy.

Notes:

This drink is fabulous during the cold seasons of the year as it is very soothing and warming. It is rich in vitamin C, so it boosts the immune system, as well as stimulating the metabolism and circulation. The drink has cleansing effects for the liver, gut and blood due to the synergetic effects of cayenne and lemon.

ACV tonic

Ingredients:

1pint of pure water

2T ACV

1/2 t or 1t raw honey (optional)

Instructions:

Pour the vinegar and add water to the glass; in the fall/winter, or generally speaking if your constitution is Kapha or Vata, the water can be gently heated before mixing the ACV in the glass.

Notes:

Only use good quality and raw ACV with “The Mother”, and shake gently before using. If you warm the water it has more cleansing effects on the liver, whereas if you drink it cold it works more on the digestive system. Lovely drink for cleansing and alkalinising the system.

Lemon water
